1What the public site uses
One cookie, and only if you pick a language from the selector. If you leave it alone, the public pages write nothing to your device on a first visit. The one page that behaves differently is the payment page, and it has a section of its own below.
It exists so the site shows you the language you asked for instead of the one for your country. It is a technical cookie, necessary to provide a service you explicitly requested.
| Name | What it does | How long | Set by |
|---|
| locale | Remembers the language you chose | One year | This site |
|---|
2Why there is no cookie banner
The law requires consent for cookies that are not strictly necessary — analytics, profiling, advertising. This site uses none of that kind.
Technical cookies need no consent, and that is not our own reading: it is Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code and the Italian supervisory authority’s guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools of 10 June 2021.
The public site measures how many people visit it with Vercel Web Analytics, the tool of the service that hosts it. It counts visits, page views, country, device type and referring page (for example a search engine). It writes no cookie or anything else on your device, does not keep your IP address, recognises you only as a number that changes every day, and does not follow you across other sites. It does not count the payment and sign-up pages and it does not run inside the software. That is why no consent is needed.
If we ever introduce profiling or analytics tools that write to your device, the banner would appear before they are set, and this page would be updated.
3Inside the software
After sign-in the software uses technical cookies: one keeps the session open, the others remember screen preferences — the menu, field mode, the light or dark theme and the language. Sign-in cannot work without the first.
Then there is the athlete questionnaire page, the one that opens from the link handed out by the staff, with no account. Once the athlete enters their PIN, a cookie remembers on that phone that the PIN has already been verified, so it does not have to be typed again at every opening. It does not contain the PIN: it is a signature valid only for that link, and changing the PIN voids it by itself.
These do not follow you either, and are not shared with third parties for marketing.
Inside the software MarkerDrift uses the browser’s local storage for one thing only: the moment of your last action (md:lastActivity), which is used to end the session after an hour of inactivity even when the software is open in several tabs. It holds no personal data and no athlete data, and it never leaves your device. We write it down because local storage is not a cookie and almost nobody declares it. The payment form, which is not ours, has its own rules: see the section below.
| Name | What it does | How long | Set by |
|---|
| sb-…-auth-token | Keeps the session open and protects it | Until you sign out, at most 400 days; with the software open the session ends after an hour without use, and with it closed it cannot be resumed after two hours without use | The authentication service |
|---|
| sidebar | Remembers whether the menu is collapsed | One year | MarkerDrift |
|---|
| campo | Remembers field mode | One year | MarkerDrift |
|---|
| mode | Remembers the light or dark theme | One year | MarkerDrift |
|---|
| locale | Remembers the interface language | One year | MarkerDrift |
|---|
| md_pin | Remembers that the athlete questionnaire PIN has already been verified on that phone; it does not contain the PIN | Sixty days | MarkerDrift |
|---|
4At the moment of payment
The payment page loads Paddle’s form from Paddle’s own domain. It is the only point at which the software calls an external service, and it happens only there: no third-party script enters the rest of the software.
To work, Paddle may set technical cookies of its own and use the browser’s local storage — to keep the payment session open and to prevent fraud — and it sees the IP address you come from, as does anyone who delivers anything over the internet. The details are in its own privacy notice, because that data is processed by Paddle: for the sale it is an independent controller.
These cookies need no consent: they are strictly necessary to provide a service you asked for yourself, namely the payment (Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code). If you do not open the payment page, they are not set.
No athlete data passes through that page.
5How to delete them
You can delete cookies from your browser settings at any time. If you delete “locale”, the site goes back to choosing the language from the country you connect from.
