Athlete Monitoring System

Measure. Compare. Decide.

Every athlete’s load, at a glance.

MarkerDrift compares every athlete against their own personal norm — GPS, session RPE, wellness, force plates — and answers in seconds, pitch-side, on a phone. It describes deviations. It does not predict injuries.

Unlimited athletes and staff users on every plan. 14 days to change your mind.

The everyday questions

Three questions, and where the answer is

No made-up day: the questions a staff actually asks, and the LIVE panel that answers them — a demonstration season, judged by the real engine.

An athlete with no measurements says so — “no measurements”, never a zero.

How it works

Three steps. It does the third one.

No configuration before you see a number: the defaults are sensible and stated, and everything stays adjustable.

1

Upload any vendor’s file

Drop the CSV from your GPS, force plates or wellness form. MarkerDrift shows the columns it found, proposes the mapping onto metrics and remembers it for next time. Catapult today, another vendor tomorrow: the profile is saved.

Vendor profile saved: next time it won’t ask.
2

Every athlete against themselves

A full-back runs twice as far as a centre-back, and a goalkeeper has nothing to do with either. That is why the reference is the personal norm: the athlete’s own band, computed on their history, not the team average.

Look at who needs looking at

Alerts fire only where load crosses wellness, jump performance or a return from absence. Few of them, with the numbers alongside and the reason written out. An alarm that always rings teaches you to ignore it.

A number never travels alone: the data that triggered it sits right next to it.

The microcycle

The same Tuesday can be an MD-4 or an MD+2

In football every day of the week has a different expected load. MarkerDrift compares each day with the same day of the previous cycles, not with the calendar.

Inside

Built by someone who used it on the pitch

Every screen answers a question a coach actually asks, and hides the rest until it is needed.

  • The load map

Athletes by days, load as colour intensity, a ring where a day leaves the personal norm. Readable in two seconds, standing up, with the sun on the screen.

  • The football week

MD-4, MD-3, MD-1, MD+1: comparisons are between matching days of the microcycle, not between one Tuesday and another. Labels written by staff always beat the calculation.

  • Cross-source alerts

Four configurable rules: load and wellness, load and jump, return with high load, worsening asymmetry. Every alert carries its numbers, and every rule that cannot be evaluated says so.

  • Reports and print

Athlete, team, comparison, matches: an Overview that answers and a lab that explores. Ready-made documents on one A4 sheet, method notes at the bottom.

  • Calendar and team notebook

Matches, sessions, attendance, minutes played, planned versus done. Staff notes on the day, never ending up on the charts.

  • Data that declares itself

A gap is not a rest day. A vendor change is a line on the chart. A goalkeeper never enters the outfield norm. Where it doesn’t know, it writes n/a.

What it calculates

The monitoring tools, with their limits written down

Not a shopping list: every entry also says where it stops working. Every analysis is configurable, and the defaults are declared.

Training load and trends

The day’s load and the norm band · outside the band
Uncoupled 7:28 ACWR
The two windows kept apart, moving average or EWMA, 80% minimum coverage. Absences are excluded, never zeroed.
Monotony and strain
Foster, on a rolling or calendar week. A standard deviation of zero: no ratio.
Z-score against the personal norm
Standard deviations from the athlete’s OWN history, day excluded from its baseline.
Normal range band
The edge of the band is where the colour changes. Window and threshold are written on the chart, never assumed.
Planned versus actual
Planned minutes and RPE on the session, against the real load. Not planned is not planned at zero.
Field and gym
How much load comes from where. A row with no session name is not «field»: it is counted apart.

Alerts and readiness

One microcycle, with that day’s alerts
Cross-checks between sources
Load with wellness, with jump, return, asymmetry: four rules, thresholds you set.
Readiness traffic light
One number with its contributions beside it. Not measured: a grey n/a, never green.
Microcycle and matching MD
Every day against the same day of the previous cycles: your own labels win.
Radar and profile by compartment
External, internal, wellness and strength on separate rings, never one axis.

Individual reference values

The same 19.8 km/h threshold on three athletes · % of their maximal sprint speed (19.8 km/h)
Maximum sprint speed and individual thresholds
MSS from the data, thresholds per athlete, CSV table for your provider’s platform.
Internal load from heart rate
Edwards TRIMP, % of HRmax, reserve (Karvonen). An unmapped zone is not zero minutes.
Internal-to-external load ratio
How much the same work cost him today, against his own norm and not a table.
Per-minute values
Divided by the minutes actually tracked. Only on what adds up, and a day with no duration is a gap.
Custom metrics
Your formulas on the metrics you already have: metres per minute, ratios, windows.

Measurement quality

  • noise
  • real, but of no interest
  • matters
How much it must change to matter
Typical error and smallest detectable change
From the repeated CMJ trials: below that number two measurements are not different.
The change worth looking at
The threshold below which a real difference is of no interest. Never a probability.
Asymmetry from force plates
Threshold from your own squad, not the ±10% that never fires on healthy players.
Metrics that say the same thing
Correlation WITHIN the athlete: which columns you read twice without knowing it.

Squad, matches and injuries

This match against his typical match
Percentage of match demand
Each against HIS OWN typical match, the median of his games: never the squad mean.
Minutes played and per-90
From the match report or GPS, stating which. Bench is zero, unavailable an absence.
Return to play pathway
Four domains against how he was before. No single score, no “fit to play”.
Availability, incidence and burden
Consensus standard, training and match kept apart. Without measured hours: n/a.

Every number comes with the raw data behind it. Where the calculation cannot be made, MarkerDrift writes n/a and says why: “I could not look” is not “everything is fine”.

Who it’s for

Three jobs, one question

Built for the football club and the academy, and still sized for the strength and conditioning coach working alone: S&C staff, sport scientists and medics read the same numbers, each with their own permissions.

  • The strength and conditioning coach

One team, the GPS file in the evening, the spreadsheet that never balances. Here the file goes in within a minute and the answer arrives before the next session.

The three things others don’t say

An honest instrument is worth more

Anyone evaluating a monitoring system knows that prediction promises do not hold. MarkerDrift makes none, and says so inside the product, not in the terms of service.

  • It does not predict injuries

No risk score, no “fit to play”. Only deviations from the individual norm, trends, and the phrase “worth a look”. Interpretation stays with the qualified practitioner, and the panel says so.

  • Reads any vendor, and declares the change

Columns are mapped, profiles are saved. When the vendor or its software version changes, a line appears on the chart: the numbers before and after are not the same thing, and hiding it would be lying.

  • Compliant from day one

Minors’ consent recorded as events. Health data accessed on a need-to-know basis, with a read log. Export and deletion of an athlete in one click. Retention periods decided, not deferred.

“The system does not predict. It describes. The person on the touchline decides.”

Nine languages, one staff

Everyone picks their own; the club sets the default. Metric names stay as they are in the file: they are data, not interface.

If it is not for you

You have 14 days to ask for a full refund, with no reason to give. It is a commercial guarantee we grant, written into the terms of service: it is not the consumer right of withdrawal, which does not apply to someone buying for their own business.

If a payment does not arrive

There are 60 days of read-only access: everything can still be read and exported, nothing new can be loaded. No automatic deletion, ever.

No feature behind a pricier tier. No cap on history: personal norms are computed on 28–120 day windows, and cutting them would produce wrong numbers without saying so.

Before you decide

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with my GPS?

Yes, if it exports a CSV: Catapult, STATSports, K-Sport, GPEXE and any other. Columns are mapped once, the profile is saved. No connector needed, and no “preset” vendors.

Does it predict injuries?

No, and it says so inside the product. It shows deviations from the personal norm, trends and reading alerts. Interpretation stays with the qualified practitioner: a system that “predicts” would be a medical device, and this is not one.

Where is the data kept?

In the privacy notice, provider by provider: that is where the answer is precise and stays current. What matters here is the rest: wellness, injuries and force plates are health data, so need-to-know access, a read log, export and deletion of an athlete in one click, minors’ consent recorded.

How long does it take to get started?

One afternoon: the squad from CSV, the first GPS file, the season dates and the matches in the calendar. We do the first onboarding together.

What if I change vendor mid-season?

The history stays, the new file is mapped onto the same list of metrics, and a line appears on the charts on the day of the change: the numbers before and after are not the same thing, and the system doesn’t pretend they are.

I run a youth academy: what about minors?

Consent from whoever holds parental responsibility is recorded as an event, with date and privacy-notice version, and can be verified. A player moving up a category doesn’t lose their history.

How many users can I have?

As many as you need: S&C coach, head coach, doctor, sport scientist, each with their own role and permissions. You don’t pay per account, because charging per account pushes people to share a password.

How much does it cost?

You pay for teams, not for people: €39 a month for one team, €79 for a club, and a quote for a whole organisation or a federation. A year costs 10 months. Athletes and staff users are unlimited on every plan, and you have 14 days to ask for a refund.

How do I collect wellness?

Every athlete gets a personal link — also as a QR code to forward in the team chat — that opens the morning questionnaire on their phone, nothing to install. The scale is the one you declare, the total adds itself up, and the answers go straight into the calculations.

Do I need to install anything?

No: it runs in the browser, phone at the pitch included, and can be added to the home screen like an app. Athlete data is never stored on the device.
